Ingredients
ice
3ouncesgin
2ounceslemon juicefresh squeezed or lime juice
2ouncessimple syrup
4ouncescranberry juice
4ouncesclub sodasoda water, seltzer, sparkling water or ginger ale
To Garnish
fresh or frozen cranberries
fresh mint sprigs
lemon slices or wedges
Instructions
Fill each glass with ice and then add the gin.
Next add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the simple syrup. (See post or notes below on how to make simple syrup.)
Add the cranberry juice and top with the club soda. Stir to combine.
Garnish each cocktail with fresh or frozen cranberries and a fresh sprig of mint. Serve immediately!
Notes
Taste the cocktail and add additional simple syrup if you like it sweeter.Storage Information:As this recipe only makes two cocktails, you’ll likely not need to store it. Fresh is best!However, If you are making a larger batch, mix in a pitcher and forgo the ice until ready to serve. Chill in the fridge for a few hours then pour over ice and add the cranberry and mint garnish.How To Make Simple Syrup:Simple syrup is easily made and is great to have on hand for cocktails such as this Cape Cod drink. I like to leave it out for those who prefer a sweeter cocktail.
Combine equal amounts of water and granulated sugar in saucepan and stir to combine. I frequently do 1 cup of each or 2 cups of each if I want to have some on hand for future drinks.
Let come to a simmer and stir just a few minutes or until sugar has dissolved.
